Is it safe to clear WAS cache before a JVM restart? is not this restricted to scenarios where I would redeploy the EAR files right after clearing the cache? how safe is it?

I would agree with you that the REST is an improvment over MIF and that they are moving towards a new Maximo UI that utilizes REST instead of direct java MBO. The document you sent is not yet fully complete as the section related to workflow engines isn't even filled in yet. I am curious to see how it would work though.

One quick thing to note is that the MIF is different from the new Next Gen JSON API (https://goo.gl/SZwktw). The new JSON (REST) API does support things like lookup lists, multi-site, and workflows. It is also significantly faster than the older MIF. Transactions are also processed as the individual users and not MXINTADM. Basically, IBM has implemented nearly every action that can be performed in the normal Maximo UI as a function in the JSON API.

With the creation of Work Centers in v7.6.0.5+, it appears that IBM is looking to replace the old "classic" Maximo applications with a set of modern web technology-based interfaces (work centers) that are geared to specific "roles" of users (field techs, supervisors, management analysis, etc). These new interfaces leverage the new JSON API. So it would appear that they intend to use it as a mobile interface as well.

Try putting \ in front of -. You could try from Maximo GUI, but may have to edit the SQL query directly.

How can I modify this query for description to DOES NOT CONTAIN $Lab or $Standard.... I tried every which way and can not figure this out !!

This forum. I stole the code and used verbatim. I have turned logging on for AUTOSCRIPT, SQL, APPLICATION for both WOTRACK and SR, and I just do not see it anything firing.

Which forum post? I can respond there. I would double check to make sure your script is executing in the first place. It might not be.

Nothing happens. When I change status form APPR to INPRG the WO changes but the SR does not. So far nothing in logs either. Set debug level to DEBUG and I see the SQL values for the WO but nothing for the SQL call to the SR. I played with this for about two hours before I put in forum comment. Any suggestions for the set up?

Yes, the setup is different from Maximo 7.5 vs 7.6, but the code should still work in both. What issue are you having?

Howdy,
This script looks to be very useful. I have tried to implement this on 7.6.0.6. The create wizard is a bit different. There is a choice to select one of five different ways to use the Attribute launch point. Also there is a new variables section. This script does not appear to use those. I have tried implementing this script and have had no success so far. Any insight would be appreciated.

DO NOT TRUST PASS4SURE - I recently took the 7.6 functional analyst exam, and it was made up of all the pass4sure questions, verbatim, which I had memorized - I failed 50%. I am SURE I answered them correctly from the Pass4sure dump, which means Pass4Sure had incorrect answers - other of my colleagues have confirmed this. DO NOT GO WITH PASS4SURE.

I followed your directions in the series to successfully configure for Maximo 7.5.0.8. Do you know if anyone has used the same directions for Maximo 7.6? I'm getting some odd errors if I use the customized XML vs OOTB. Any thoughts or advice?
